Kindness
Acts of kindness increase energy and give a wonderful feeling of optimism. Kindness helps children’s mental health, their resilience, as well as their peak performance.
Empathy
Empathy is an important tool for children to have in their emotional toolbox. Empathy can help them build connections, regulate emotions, and promote helping behaviors.
Compassion
Compassionate behavior such as volunteer work has been associated with positive outcomes such as increased academic aspirations and self-esteem among adolescents.
Our Mission
Our mission is to cultivate compassion as an essential practice in young lives. We work with local students and empower them to create lasting changes in the lives of the underprivileged individuals of the community.

Our Drives
We host donation drives to cater to the needs of underprivileged communities. Through our drives, we strive to empower and provide some much-needed support to these communities.

We organize fundraising activities to support our mission and make sure we reach our full potential.

Drives and fundraisers aren’t the only initiatives we do! We also organize numerous engaging and special activities throughout the year to help our communities in creative ways.

Sikta Khastagir
FOUNDER & PRESIDENT
Sikta has been associated with the education world for a long time. With more than a decade of working experience with young children and her passion for volunteering in several service projects, Sikta has always believed in nurturing important soft skills like compassion, kindness, and empathy in young lives. Her dream of a world where love knows no bounds was the foundation brick of the Cupertino Change Agents. Along with her passion for influencing young lives, Sikta is also a talented cook and baker.
Ramita Chouhan
SECRETARY
A software test engineer by profession, Ramita has a dream to give back to the community right from the early days of her childhood. Cupertino Change Agents helped give wings to her intentions of doing something for the underprivileged citizens of society. Ramita feels motivated by the potential that Cupertino Change Agent holds and all that it can accomplish in the coming years. Along with working with the local community, Ramita also enjoys health and wellness.
Sai Niveda Purushothaman
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Working as a Program Management Professional with an education background in Computer Applications,Sai has been associated with multiple NGO’s in different capacities since her childhood days.This experience not only gave her an opportunity to create a huge impact in lots of people in the community, but also provided her with deep appreciation working towards improving their quality of life.When she is not at work,she enjoys singing & listening to music.
Somy Mathew
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
A paraeducator by profession and dentist by qualification, Somy has been working with special-needs children for a long time. She has always wanted to give back to society and Cupertino Change Agents gave her the right platform to do so. She loves being part of a youth-led organization as she believes that children are the future. When she's not working with children, she loves cooking and baking.
Saloni Arora
With a master's degree in commerce and a background in education, Saloni has always aspired to positively impact young lives. She is committed and passionate about working in partnership with children in order to build a community of goodness, empathy, and respect. Along with her dedication to the Cupertino Change Agents family, Saloni loves good music and meeting new people.
Rishita Arora
Holding multiple marketing positions including Marketing and Design Director position for Davis Women in Business, and Marketing Strategy Assistant for UC Davis CPE, Rishita has always been passionate about giving back to the community. Rishita views CCA as an opportunity to bring a change and work towards a bigger impact in the society. When she’s not working, Rishita spends time sketching, reading or spending time with friends and family!
Anusha Purohit
Anusha is an ex Big 4 Audit professional and a Certified Chartered Accountant. A proud mother of 2 kids who inherit empathy as a deeply ingrained core value, Anusha is passionate about what makes us humane and committed to it’s impact on making our surrounding environment a better place to be. A believer in the magic of spreading smiles, she also enjoys cooking, long walks and listening to podcasts.

Who are the Cupertino Change Agents?
We are a group of elementary(2nd grade and up) and middle school students from local schools who want to make an impact on the community, where and when it’s needed.

Who can be a Change Agent?
Any elementary (2nd grade and up) and middle school students who have a genuine interest in community service projects can be a Cupertino Change Agent.

How frequently do the agents meet?
At this point, we meet every week for a 2-hour meeting. It may vary every month depending on the activities we do.
